I'm really excited to be offering these sneaker making workshops in collaboration with SneakerKit.
Make your own pair of leather sneakers using a few basic leatherwork techniques, hand tools and SneakerKit soles and insoles in your size.
There are a number of designs and patterns to choose from - super high-tops are pictured here - so you can make a pair of shoes that are uniquely yours. Follow Instagram's #sneakerkit to see what's already out there!
The leather uppers are made from soft but sturdy, thick vegetable tanned leather - customise them further by hand dying your pattern pieces or leave them plain for a minimal look.
Designed for anyone to enjoy, this course is suitable for everyone from crafty novices to experienced makers. Using a couple of basic patterns, we will walk through the entire process from plain, flat hide to actual footwear.
All materials and tools are supplied, as well as lunch, tea, coffee and cake. Just bring yourself in some old clothes, as leatherwork can be messy!
Payment for the day can be made in full, or a deposit of £70 placed to secure your spot on the course. The deposit is fully refundable up until 15 days before the course date, after which time it will go towards materials for the day. Bookings for each workshop will close on the Sunday 2 weeks prior to the workshop date.
Dates for this course are flexible, just get in touch and to arrange a day that suits you best. This course needs to be booked at least 4 weeks in advance.
The course runs from 10 am to finished shoes at the Notch Handmade workshop in Tregaron. 3 places are available per workshop date for this course.
Please don't hesitate to contact me for more information about any of my courses.
